Movie premiere: BROOKLYN BOONDOGGLE

May 5th, 2009 by eric

Our latest short documentary has been accepted to the SCENE: BROOKLYN film series, and is playing next Tuesday night, May 5Brooklyn Boondoggle chronicles a chorus of community voices as they confront the realities of modern urban development: the controversial Atlantic Yards development project in Brooklyn.

In the company of such talented young filmmakers as Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden (Half Nelson), the event is sure to be a hotbed of hot new artists and film folks, with a good ol’ fashioned block-party attitude, as it “celebrates the borough’s thriving film community, and features a seminar for filmmakers, a panel discussion, and screenings.”  Come on out and support the locals!

  1. Thanks for sharing such a quality work of urban-political-docu-poetry (as I’m going to call it) which may not be the best way to describe it but hopefully it gets the point across. There was a very real sense of pride and grace captured in the residents’ stories; at the same time as the haunting pulse of eminent domain being used against Brooklyn communities. Thanks for a special film!

  2. I’m sad I wasn’t able to make it to the premiere. Is there another way we can watch it? Online perhaps?
