A contingent of Meerkats spent the last month in the Serbian countryside shooting the majority of our new feature documentary, Brasslands.

This past February a bunch of Meerkats boarded a train with our friends in the Goddamn Cobras Collective with the goal of making a collaborative movie about train travel. From that trip we’ve been cutting together a film called TRAVELING LIGHT, a unique blend of fiction and documentary, narrative and experiment — an evocative portrait of the shifting American landscape that shows the journey truly is the destination.
We’re very excited to share a new teaser trailer for the project with you all along with our new tumblr. The tumblr (http://trainfilm.tumblr.com) will feature footage from our journey and some of our favorite cinema inspired train moments. Be sure to keep checking back for updates

This Friday the “Brasslands” trailer and Zlatne Uste, the subject of our new feature documentary will be featured in the Kickstarter Film Festival as a part of the Rooftop Films Summer Series.

“Breach of Faith,” a short doc about the immediate aftermath of the Haiti earthquake is up on Time.com! I’m really proud of the work we did here.
It was done in collaboration with two amazing photographers, Shaul Schwarz and Julie Platner, and edited by Bryan Chang.

A few of us got to spend the weekend at the POWfest (Portland, Oregon Women’s film fest) where we were representing our feature doc Stages and meeting lots of nice and talented lady makers. We got to be a part of Andrea Leoncavallo‘s photo project dedicated to inspiring/inspired women — which is absolutely worth a gander:

watch the new music video for FIELDED‘s (Lindsay Powell solo project) song ‘another time’. we made it together on cold mornings in january before heading into the studio/rehearsal for the next FESTIVAL record. no animals were harmed during the creation of this video.
