wal-mart on “Our Stage”

May 30th, 2007 by jay

So we’ve recently discovered an online videosharing site called Our Stage. It’s a little cheesy and American Idol-ish but it was recommended to us by our very smart friends over at Shooting People.  What’s cool about this particular site is that audience chooses which films they like and whoever is the most popular wins lots of money.  You register with the site, choose the “channel” you want to watch, and then get to see two videos and vote for which one you liked best and by how much. At the end of every month they take the top 10 in each category and ask people to send it text messages (that cost $0.50 to send) as a way to vote for their favorite one. Winner gets money and is up for the grand prize of $5000.

Point is, we submitted our short film “How Wal-Mart Came to Haslett” in their Cutting Edge category and it quickly rose into the Top 10. So now if enough people read the banner below and text message these folks perhaps we could win and raise more money to help us finish our feature films?

It costs 50 cents to vote, but the money doesn’t go to phone companies but towards their prize money, so vote away with no guilt!   (if you ares so inclined)
