John McCain’s MySpace Hacked
April 3rd, 2007 by ericSomeone at John McCain’s campaign site made a little bit of an internet faux-pas, and got this result to show for it. Here we see a before / after example of why not to break the rules.
The story is that the McCain minion used a MySpace template from a guy at a big news site called Newsvine.com, and broke the internetiquette rule of always using your own images. (If you don’t, other people have to pay for all the traffic that your site gives to that image. It’s like driving somebody else’s car without permission.) Because this guy owns the image, he simply replaced it with something a little more amusing, to show them why they might not want to do what they did.
I for one, am amused.
